The Key of F Major is our first key with a flat in the key signature: Bb
Bb can be played by low 1st finger on the A string (as from Lesson 6), and low 4th finger on the E string.
In the majority of music we play, our fingers will typically make similar patterns of whole steps and half steps (Lesson 6). We can name these patterns by their half steps. These will be used more when we begin shifting.
For example, the "Beginner Scale" (notes on the tapes) includes only one finger pattern which was the same across all four strings. That pattern is called "2/3" since the half step is between fingers 2 and 3.
